Personal Experience

Practice Area, Years Practiced, and Concentrations:

• Over Twenty-five (years) as a practicing attorney. Worked within the Department of Homeland Security, Customs and Border Protection, and the Eleventh Judicial Circuit Court for Dade County.
• Led boutique law firm for over 11 years, focusing on Government Contracting and Procurement, General Counsel services for Small Businesses, Corporate Legal Practice Representation, Negotiation and Litigation, Non-profit, Compliance and Regulations, Civil Litigation, International Trade and Customs, Employment and Labor law.

Publications, Articles, and Teaching Positions:

• Regularly teaches or provides instruction with the Northern Virginia Black Chamber of Commerce Accelerator, Bowie Business Innovation Center, and Center of Excellence 8(a) Government Contracting the Federal Contracting Collaborative Accelerator Program.

Honors, Awards, Recognitions:

• The Daily Record’s and Maryland State Bar Association’s 2025 Leaders in Law honorees.
• One of the Daily Record’s 2024 Most Influential Business Attorneys in Maryland.

• Serves as an at-large member of the Maryland State Bar Association (MSBA) and Business Law Section Council (2023-2026), MSBA Board of Governors, Member at Large (2024-2026). Currently serves as the Co-Chair of the MSBA/Civil Justice first Law Clinic for Small Businesses.
• An Accredited Member of the International Trade Council, a Licensed Consultant, Maryland Non-Profits Standard of Excellence, and a member of the National Bar Association and the American Bar Association.
• The Maryland Bar Foundation Fellow, 2025.

• Undergraduate degree at Florida State University, Tallahassee, Florida, B.S. (1994), in Political Science (Major), International Affairs (Minor) (Academic Honors: Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society).
• Law degree from the University of Miami School of Law, Coral Gables, Florida, J.D. (1999), Managing Editor of the University of Miami International and Comparative Law Review and Quarter-finalist, Intramural Moot Court Competition.  
• Postgraduate degree at the University College of London, Bloomsbury, England, L.L.M. (2011) in residence in Public International Law and achieved academic merit.   
• Barred in the States of Florida, Maryland, and the District of Columbia. Admitted to the Southern District of Florida and the United States District Court of Maryland and has practiced pro hac vice in the District of Connecticut.
